Dhaka, December 19: The government on Monday approved the draft of a drug law with a view to raising the standard of the country’s medicine products to international level.
The proposed ‘National Drug Act 2016’ suggests a yearly review of the medicine products prices. Updates of the review will be published online.
The approval came from the regular cabinet meeting held at secretariat on Monday with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Shafiul Alam explained the decision of the meeting while talking to reporters.
He said, “The act aims to standardise Bangladesh’s medicine products in level with western countries like the US where we export our medicine products.”
The cabinet also endorsed drafts of National Sports Council 2016, Nazrul Institute Act 2016, and Cost and Management Account Act 2016, he said.
