Confirming the matter, Brigadier General Sazzad Hossain, Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said, the rescue operation resumed around 10am and the body was retrieved 12:45pm. So far, 33 dead bodies were recovered.
However, a case has been filed against seven people with South Keraniganj police station in connection with a launch capsize in the Buriganga River.
Mohammad Shamsul, Sub Inspector of Naval Police sadarghat thana, filed the case early today accusing the people, including the owner of Mayur 2 launch.
At least 32 people were killed on Monday morning when a small launch, named Morning Bird coming from Munshiganj, sank in the Buriganga after a larger one – Mayur 2 – in reverse horrifically crashed into it near Farashganj Ghat in Dhaka.
BIWTA and the Shipping Ministry formed two committees to investigate the incident.
The BIWTA probe team was given 72 hours to submit its findings, while the other team was given seven days.
