‘BNP will join polls without any supportive govt’: Quader


Laxmipur, September 4: Ruling Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday said BNP would participate in the next parliamentary elections without any supportive government.

“No matter how much they created hue and cry for the supporting government. They obviously will join the polls without it,” he said.

Obaidul Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, came up with the observation while visiting Begumganj-Laksmipur Highway at Banglabazar in Begumganj upazila.

He said, “BNP has no ability to form any movement, as they have lost their popularity. If they have any capacity, they will stage demonstration in the capital with the participation of a good number of people.”

A portion of Raipur-Laksmipur-Begumganj Highways damaged by heavy rainfall will be renovated within one month, the minister said,

“A project involving Tk 94 crore has already been taken to repair the roads,” he said.

AKM Shahjahan Kamal MP, Awami League Youth and Sports Secretary Harunur Rashid, District AL President Golam Faruk Pinku, General Secretary Advocate Nuruddin Chowdhury Noyon accompanied the minister during the visit.
