BNP vows to reinstate democracy with ideology party founder

Dhaka, Jan 19: The party leaders and its activists have taken oath to reinstate democracy in line with the ideology of party founder, BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said on Tuesday.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia along with senior leaders and activists went to Zia’s grave to place wreaths on his 80th birth anniversary.

“We have taken oath to reinstate democracy in line with the ideology of party founder and former President Ziaur Rahman,” the spokesperson for the party came up with the assertion while talking to reporters after placing wreath at the grave of late President Ziaur Rahman marking his 80th anniversary.

He said there is no democracy and rule of law in the country and the big challenge is to restore it.

Mirza Fahrul also added: “We all have to be united in restoring democracy and people’s rights bearing the spirit of Zia.”

He said BNP is reorganizing the party and will work with all concerned to bring back democracy in the country.
