Dhaka, December 18: BNP held talks with President Md Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on formation of the new Election Commission (EC) that will oversee the next general election on Sunday.
An 11-member BNP delegation led by the party Chairperson Khaleda Zia started talks with the president around 4:37pm.
“We urged the president to take initiative to hold an impartial and inclusive election under a neutral Election Commission,” said BNP standing committee member Mahbubur Rahman.
Earlier in the, Khaleda reached Bangabhaban around 4:30pm from Nayapaltan party office.
The other members of the delegation are secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing comiitee members Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Barrister Jamir Uddin Sircar, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.
