Dhaka, April 9: The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Saturday announced names of seven joint secretaries general and eight organising secretaries of its new central committee.
Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the names at party’s central office through a press conference, three weeks after the party’s national council held on March 19.
The new joint secretaries general are Mahbub Uddin Khokan, Mujibur Rahman Sarwar, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Khairul Kabir Khokon, Habib-Un Nabi Khan Sohel, Harun-ur-Rashid and Aslam Chowdhury.
Of them, Mahbub Uddin Khokan was in the same position in the previous committee.
The organising secretaries are Fazlul Haque Milon, Nazrul Islam Manju, Shahadat Hossain, Asadul Habib Dulu, Zahangir Alam Talukder, Syed Emran Saleh Prince, Bilkis Shrin and Shama Obaid.
BNP chief Khaleda Zia approved Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as its secretary general and Rizvi as senior joint secretary general 10 days after the council.
Khaleda was re-elected chairperson and her son Tarique Rahman the senior vice-chairman in the council held on March 19.
Names of the other leaders in the new committee are yet to be announced.
