Dhaka, June 23: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday said that Bangladesh will turn into a developed country by 2041 and there will be no poor people in the country.
“We have achieved self-sufficiency in food. We will never beg for food,” the premier made the assertion while addressing a discussion programme on the occasion of 67th founding anniversary of the Awami League at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) .
Highlighting several successful stories of the government, she said, the country is moving into a developed country soon.
Sheikh Hasina alleged that everyone has tried to destroy Awami League.
Ayub Khan had tried to demolish Awami League. Then, Iskandar Mirza, Ziaur Rahman, Hussain Muhammad Ershad, Khaleda Zia all of them tried to ruin Awami League, she added.
Among others, Awami League Advisory Committee member and Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Minister Tofail Ahmed, Presidium member also Agriculture Minister Motia Chowdhury, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim and other party leaders also spoke on the occasion.
