Dhaka, September 5: Bangladesh emerged as the unbeaten champions of group C of the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship Qualifiers beating UAE 5-0 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday.
Bangladesh won all the five games of the group to earn fifteen points which confirmed their ticket of the final round scheduled to be held at Thailand in September 2017.
Bangladesh took the lead in the very third minute of the match when Marjia curved a corner from the left hand flag and skipper Krishna Rani outjumped her marker to head the ball into the far post net (1-0).
In the 36th minute, Bangladesh defender Shamsunnahar failed to convert a spot kick putting the ball wide off the side post. The first half finished in the scoreline of 1-0.
Six minutes after the resumption, Bangladesh sat on the two goal cushion. It was Krishna again who slotted her second with right footed placing on a dipping corner of Sanjida (2-0).
Forward Anuching Mogini drilled the third in the 61st minute with a cool headed finish. Fed with a nice through pass by Maria Manda, Anuching fired the ball into the near post net (3-0).
Four minutes away from the stipulated time, substitute forward Tohura Khatun headed the fourth from hand shaking distance after a cross of Monika Chakma slipped off the gloves of UAE goalie Dalal Al Hammadi (4-0).
