Bagerhat , June 11: At least one person was killed and 30 other injured on Saturday morning when two rival groups clashed over establishing supremacy at Mollahat upazila under Bagerhat district.
Mokfar Chowdhury, brother of Kawser Ali, died on the spot during the clash.
According to local sources, supporters of two rival groups—Kawser Ali and Enayet Chowdhury involved into clash at around 7.30am at Singgati village.
The injured have been admitted to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital.
Officer-in-Charge of Mollahat Khairul Enam said the body of Mokfar has been sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
“The situation is now under our control,” he added.
