Aslam on surveillance, CTG police bans on travel


Dhaka, May 15: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Sunday said that they are investigating whether some any other persons are involved or not with Aslam Chowdhury.

BNP Joint Secretary Aslam Chowdhury allegedly held several meetings with Mossad in India allegedly plotting to topple the Awami League government.

“We will go for action after collecting some more information. The detectives are working about involvement of BNP leader Aslam Chowdhury. We will findout everybody involved behind the conspiracy. We will disclose to you how they involved with the plot to oust the government,” the minister told reporters at the secretariat.

Aslam Chowdhury is now under surveillance, he added.

Meanwhile, Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Iqbal Bahar said that BNP (Bangladesh Nationalist Party) Joint Secretary Aslam Chowdhury will be arrested wherever he found, on charge of plotting with Mossad, Israeli intelligence agency to topple the government.

“In the meantime we have sent banned letter on his leaving country to all the country’s land, sea and airports. We have continued our drive to arrest him. If we find him wherever, he will be arrested,” the Commissioner told reporters.

When his picture with Mendi N Safadi, a leader of Israeli Likud Party and chief of International Diplomacy and Public Relations was published in media, he admitted that he was met with Israeli politician but it was accidental.

After the incident came in media, Aslam Chowdhury went into hiding and his mobile phone was found switched off.
