Another suspect in Gulshan cafe Shaon dies at DMCH


Dhaka, July 8: Another alleged attacker in last Friday’s Gulshan cafe Zakir Hossain Shaon died on Friday at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Shaon’s father Abdus Sattar confirmed the incident to media.

Zakir’s parents went to Holey Artisan bakery with a photograph of their son on July 4 as they could not find him after the attack on the restaurant.

He was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital at 12:30pm today (Friday). But his condition deteriorated and died in the evening, said Prof Abdur Rahman, chief of the DMCH ICU.mother of Shaon

Bloody and battered, he was recovered during the early Saturday morning hours of the Gulshan cafe siege by the law enforcers.

It is not clear whether he was a suspect in the attack. But, the case filed over the grizzly Friday killings did not include his name.

Abdus Sattar claimed his son was a kitchen help at Holey Artisan Bakery and was missing for four days since the terrifying July 1 terrorist attack.

Mother Maksuda Begum claimed that her son had assault marks and swellings all over his body.

On July 1, a group of terrorists killed at least 20 people, mostly foreigners, in the attack.
