Dhaka, December 26: A Dhaka court on Monday granted remand of two alleged female militants–Shila and Trishna–for seven days each who surrendered to law enforcers during the raid into a militant’s den at Ashkona area under Dakkhin Khan Police Station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Meher Nigar Suchona passed the remand order after hearing.

Earlier, Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit’s inspector Saidur Rahman sought for 10-day remand each after producing them before the court.

Documents show that law enforcers surrounded ‘Surya Villa’ at Ashkona area of Dakkhin Khan in the capital early Friday night. Later, the law enforcers launched operation to nab the militants from early Saturday morning.

The operation was participated by CTTC, Detective Branch (DB), Rapid Action Batallion (RAB) and SWAT.

Locals said the owner of the house Jamal Uddin lives in Qatar. The caretaker of the house said a businessman was rented a flat on the first floor of the house a few months ago.

Police said after launching an operation into the house early Saturday morning, two women along with two girl children surrendered from the house at about 9:30am. They were Jebunnesa Shila, wife of Major (Retd) Zahid who was killed during an operation at Roopnagar in Mirpur, and Trishna, wife of absconding militant Musa. They were accompanied by two girl children.
